A Miracle of Love and Grace
A personal testimony found in Margaret’s clippings.
To tell my story I would like to go back to the year of 1949. My wife and I had taken a trip to Virginia. After spending a week there, some relatives had gathered at the old home place, where Mother and Dad were still living. As we were there that night preparing to leave the next day for Baltimore, my brother was present; and since he was a minister of the gospel, he was more concerned about my wife’s and my salvation than some of the others were. Before leaving he called for a prayer, and it was then and there something happened. Yes, the greatest thing that ever come into our lives or into the life of any man, woman, boy of girl. For the first time in our lives we came face to face with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We accepted Him then and there as our personal Savior. He lifted us out of the miry clays of sin, and He placed our feet on higher ground.
Old things passed away and all things became new. Yes, He put a sparkle in our eyes. He put a new spring in our step. He put a new song of praise upon our lips, and thanks be to His precious name He has sent us rejoicing down through the years drinking from a fountain that will never run dry. Yes, my God is real. Why? Because feel Him deep in my soul.
Miracles are being performed today as they were two thousand years ago when our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, went to an fro upon this sinful earth doing food and healing those who were in need as he went forth from day to day. On December 2, 1964, some few miles above the city of Aberdeen, Maryland, while working on a scaffold that had been placed on a large opening leading down some 154 feet to where a tunnel for water had been constructed, I fell from this scaffold an estimated 35 feet, landing on steel and concrete. It was then and there I went to sleep in Jesus. I lay there for two and a half hours due to the difficulty of my rescue. After being rescued I was taken by the Level Fire department ambulance crew to Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland. After being examined there by the medical staff, they stated there was no hope for me and that they were unable to do anything for me. The ambulance crew was at a loss to know what to do with my body. But thanks be to God, He was still at the head of this operation, and He was still directing people what to do. He directed someone to call the water engineer who instructed them to take me to Mercy Hospital.

When I reached Mercy Hospital some few hours later, the doctors began to examine my body. They found I had a crushed left knee cap which had to be removed. My left leg was placed in a cast for seven weeks. They also found I had a moderately severe brain damage. My skull was fractured over my right eye. My right cheek bone was also fractured plus other injuries they found. But more serious than any of these that I have tried to describe and explain to you, some eight hours later blood clots began to form in my head; and they had to go through my fractured skull to dissolve them. The specialist also stated that I could I1e there unconscious for weeks, but thanks be to God again that it was His will after some thirty hours of unconsciousness that I should awake. Not only did I awake, but after many days of constant care by competent doctors, I was able to leave the hospital.

God has called me to testify of His grace and love. I realize my weakness and unworthiness as I stand before people and as I stand to give a testimony of what He has done for me.I en not a man with a high education, but thanks be to God, I tell them as I stand before then that I feel I do not need a degree to tell others of what Jesus has done for me. And what he has done for me, he certainly will do for others.
I an grateful for medical science. I am grateful for the hospital, and I am grateful for My doctors. I am grateful to all who bad a part in taking care of my personal, and physical need; but most of all down from the depths of my heart, I am grateful to Almighty God through His Son, Jesus Christ, who so miraculously healed my body.

My prayer is that my testimony might touch the hearts of some man, woman, boy, or girl no that too might see the need of having Jesus in their lives. To the Christian person, I would pray that it might encourage you to press onward, ever looking upward to the second and glorious coming of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, when shall be called up at a moments notice to meet Him in the air and to be with Him forevermore, Oh what a glorious day that will be.
Personal Testimony,
