🌿 Slow Cooker Cannabutter Pork Roast
Serves: 6–8
Cook Time: 6–8 hours (low) or 4–5 hours (high)
Ingredients
-
1 (3–4 lb) pork shoulder or pork butt
-
1–2 tbsp olive oil (for searing)
-
2–4 tbsp cannabutter (adjust to desired potency)
-
1 medium onion, sliced
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup chicken broth (or apple cider)
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1 tsp thyme
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Optional add-ins: chopped apples, carrots, or potatoes
Instructions
1. Sear the pork (optional but recommended).
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high.
Sear the pork roast on all sides until browned (2–3 minutes per side).
Transfer to the slow cooker.
2. Add aromatics.
Scatter sliced onions, garlic, and optional veggies around the pork in the slow cooker.
3. Make the cooking sauce.
In a bowl, whisk together:
-
broth (or apple cider)
-
soy sauce
-
mustard
-
Worcestershire
-
brown sugar
-
paprika
-
thyme
-
salt + pepper
Pour over the pork.
4. Add cannabutter.
Place 2–4 tbsp of cannabutter on top of the pork roast, letting it melt slowly into the meat during cooking.
(This preserves cannabinoids better than direct skillet heating.)
5. Cook.
-
Low: 7–8 hours
-
High: 4–5 hours
Pork should be fall-apart tender.
6. Shred + serve.
Remove pork, shred with two forks, and mix it back into the juices.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, roasted veggies, or on buns for sandwiches.
